CustomsAndConcepets.Com Review of the H2

Hummer H2 SUV by General motors
Maybe
not able to leap tall buildings, the Hummer H2 however will scale rugged
rocks and wade water and at the same time haul your groceries and your
kids' teammates. And it most certainly can impress your neighbors.
What's more it is thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, and spacious and
drives quite nicely on the highway, I might add.
The Humvee, a wide and capable military vehicle of Gulf War fame, was down graded to become the first Hummer, a mammoth loud, uncomfortable sand box toy, for the rich boys.
The
H2's extremely boxy body and very straight windshield and windows,
which resemble H1's forms, combine to create a significant interior
roominess. The vertical glass gives a broader front and wider side
view. In a nod to the functional aspect of design, exposed components,
like hood lift handles, hood latches and fasteners; give H2's
appearance its own component-assembled quality. As on H1, the exposed
components and mechanical elements are defiantly functional and
exemplify ruggedness.
The Hummer H2
is a large, five- or six-passenger SUV. Standard features are numerous
and include dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose XM audio with a CD
player Navigation leather seating, full power front seats with
lumbar adjustment, a trip computer, OnStar, key-less entry, front and
rear seats that are heated, skid plates on the under body, 315/70R17 all-terrain tires and an Indispensable Locking Rear Differential.
Every
H2 starts with a totally welded ladder-type frame that includes a
modular, three-piece design incorporating a number of hydro formed
components, which adds maximum strength, stiffness and dimensional
accuracy. This insures on-road ride comfort and control, along with an
outstanding off road capability. The H2's independent front torsion bar
and five-link coil spring rear suspension are quite sufficient. The
solid rear axle ensures durable sure-footedness, particularly in
narrow, off-road situations. A self-leveling rear air spring suspension
system is available for severe off-road and towing requirements to
complete the package.
The H2 manages to one-up its competitors in more than one of these areas: price; styling; on or off-road performance; space, comfort and quiet. This is an amazingly appealing package even to those among us who found the H1 as a civilian simply silly.
The
OnStar safety and security system comes standard on all H2s, and
features the all-new sixth generation hardware with digital and analog
coverage. OnStar's Gen 6 hardware includes upgraded hands-free voice
recognition capabilities including more intuitive continuous digit
dialing and a much improved voice recognition accuracy. OnStar, as you
know, is the leading provider of in-vehicle safety, security and
information services in the U. S. and Canada
. By using its reliable GPS Satellite network and Wireless Technology,
OnStar features core safety services and OnStar Personal Calling which
allows drivers to make and receive hands-free, voice-activated phone
calls using a three-watt digital/analog system and by using an external
antenna permits greater reception.
The
H2's off-road prowess is by far the best in its class, with greater
approach and departure angles, high ground clearance; plenty wheel
travel and ample grips from the aggressive tires
Besides the obvious difficulties caused by the large size and the
gas mileage disadvantages of the 2008 Hummer H2,
this is one SUV has a balances of luxury with true off road abilities.
You will probably never be stuck anywhere long enough to really take
advantage and appreciate all that the full feature cabin has to offer,
but it sure is nice to know it’s there if you ever need it. If you get a chance Take a H2 for a test drive. You will want to take it home with you!
